Dog of the Month - Blue
If you have a dog, you want to know about this organic dog food made in Baton Rouge, LA, called "Jake's Cuisine". I found out about it from Jill Conner Browne, the World Famous Sweet Potato Queen of Jackson, MS. If you have not read her books, do so immediately!
For the last few years my blue-tick coonhound, Blue, was losing his hair, constant scratching, itching, etc. Vet visits amounted to alot of nothing, except steroid shots. The shots work for a few weeks, but obviously aren't healthy for the dog, and can get a little pricey. Not to mention the 'roid rage. The vets - yeah, I went through a few -claimed the dog was suffering from allergies. Who knows?
Well, Jill told me about her and her sister's dogs (this sister also being an author, Southern Fried Divorce by Judy Conner) having the same symptoms, and that a month of adding "Jake's Cuisine" to their diet met with amazing results. Hair grows back, no more scratching, etc.
I ordered some for Blue. This dog food is all that and more. Now, Blue is around 100 lbs., and I add 1/3 of a cup of Jake's to his Purina Dog Chow twice a day. His hair has grown back, glossy, and incredible. His eyes which were constantly gooey, all cleared up! No scratching!
And the folks at "Jake's Cuisine" are just the best. They offer free shipping, this stuff is packed in dry ice, as its made fresh. I e-mailed them the other day, whining that I had forgotten to order, and don't you just know they FedEx'd me my order! Don't you just LOVE IT when somebody wants to make you a happy camper?
