"Miles was rescued with his sister from the woods in Alabama a couple of years ago. At about 10 months he had a major seizure and a fever of 110. His seizure eased up but didn't stop for 24 hours and the fever which took hours to get under control.
The LSU Vet school is one of the finest around but we almost gave up hope when on the 2nd day they brought him out to see us. He was on a dolly since he was paralyzed from his front legs back. He was totally blind and showed no signs of recognition of our voices. Just a blank stare into space.
The doctors said that we should give him another day or two. He slowly got better and once we got him home and on a strict diet of Jake's Cuisine and some raw chicken he improved quickly. He has surpassed all of our hopes. He still has epilepsy but with his diet we have been able to reduce the high doses of medication and had only minor and rare siezures. He is again happy and playful. Thanks Mary, we love you dearly. "
